Import from other recorder

This page can be reached by an administrator, from the Tools menu > Export & Import > Import from other recorder. The following types of import are suported:

- Vidicode FTP (Call Recorder Single / ISDN / etc.)

- 3CX

Vidicode FTP import

Apresa can import recordings made on other Vidicode call recorders. For example recordings made on an analog/digital CR Single, Call Recorder PRI, Call Recorder ISDN, CR Quarto, CR Octo, etc. can be easily imported. The import is based on FTP.

For importing from another Apresa server, see the topic of connecting multiple Apresa servers.

For importing from a V-Tap, see the Network tab of the System settings.

Field

Explanation

Password

Password to login

Define new password

If you enable this option you can define a new password

Import every (minutes)

The interval the system will try to import new recordings.

From date

The first date to start importing recordings

Restart from date

Enable the "From Date" importing of recordings. This setting will be automatically disabled after the import.

If there is an error during the import, Apresa will start the next import round beginning with the failing file. The "Import every (minutes)" setting also defines the interval between retries after a failure. It makes sense to set the "Import every (minutes)" setting to a low value, when you want to import a large amount of recordings.

The audio files that are stored on the recorders are imported into Apresa without converting into another codec. Audio files that use the G.723 codec can be converted to MP3 and played back inline on Debian 8 and 9 (on older Debian 8 systems, it might require the libav-tools update). On other systems, the files cannot be converted to MP3, which means inline playback is not possible. To listen to the audio, the audio file can be downloaded, and could be played back using VidiPlayer.

3CX import

When importing from 3CX, it is required that the recording files are present on a local or mounted remote directory. The files are expected to have the following file name format:

[Data1]_Caller-Receiver_YearMonthDayHourMinuteSecond(Data2).wav

Description: For identification. This will also be the recorder name in the call listing.

Directory: The directory in the Linux file system that contains the recordings. It can be a local directory, or a remote directory that is mounted on the command line.

Import every: The interval in minutes that the system will try to import new recordings.

Delay: A recording will be imported only after the specified delay has passed, compared to the start time as indicated in the file name. This is to allow the recording to finish completely when importing from a live recording directory, to avoid importing partial recordings. Set the delay to the maximum call duration that you need to support.

Imported recordings will be removed from the directory. Files that have failed to import are moved to a subdirectory named "rejected".

For each Local ID that is imported, an external phone license is needed, and the Local ID needs to be added to the External phones list.

Start / stop scripts: You may provide scripts that will run before and after import by creating an executable file named 3cx_start and 3cx_stop in the directory /var/apresa/cmd/. This could be used to do custom mounting and unmouting.

Wildix import

When importing from Wildix, it is required that the recording files are present on a local or mounted remote directory.

Start / stop scripts: You may provide scripts that will run before and after import by creating an executable file named wildix_start and wildix_stop in the directory /var/apresa/cmd/. This could be used to do custom mounting and unmouting.
